Moroccan leather pouf, museum spotlight

Centuries of craft.
One ottoman.

Addorar  •  Handcrafted in Marrakech  •  Since the beginning

Our Name

A pearl is not manufactured.
It is cultivated.

Addorar — from the Arabic الدرر, meaning pearls. Rare. Formed slowly. More beautiful with time. It is the name we chose deliberately, because the ottomans we bring to the world are made the same way.

By hand, in Marrakech, by artisans who have spent lifetimes perfecting a single discipline. Layer by layer. Stitch by stitch.

“The objects we live with should carry meaning — not the meaning of a logo or a trend, but the deeper kind embedded in the hands that made something.”

The Story

Born from a conviction that craft should endure.

Addorar was born from a conviction that the objects we live with should carry meaning. Not the meaning of a logo or a trend, but the deeper kind — the kind embedded in the hands that made something, the city where it was made, and the tradition it belongs to.

We work directly with master leather artisans in Marrakech, in workshops where the tools have not changed in centuries and where quality is not a standard to be met but a reputation to be upheld.

The Craft

From the tanneries of Fez to your home.

Each ottoman begins in the tanneries of Fez, where hides are soaked, scraped, and dyed using plant-based pigments — saffron, poppy, indigo — in a process unchanged since the medieval medina was built around it.

Every seam is saddle-stitched by hand — two needles, one thread. The filling is natural wool or recycled cotton. No synthetic foam. No shortcuts. Approximately 72 hours of skilled human work, per piece.

The Process

From raw hide
to finished ottoman.

The Tanneries of Fez

Hides arrive at the ancient tanneries, soaked in natural limestone and pigeon clay to soften and open the leather fibers before dyeing.

Plant-Based Pigments

Saffron, poppy, indigo — worked into the leather by hand in open stone vats. A process unchanged since the medina was built around it.

Precision by Hand

Leather panels are hand-cut in Marrakech to fit each design — Zellige, Arch, Tile, Pumpkin — with zero tolerance for imperfection.

Saddle-Stitch Finish

Two needles, one thread. Every seam stitched by hand — a technique that will outlast the furniture around it.

Pearls take time. So do the things worth keeping.

What We Stand For

A different kind of luxury.

Handcrafted without exception

Every piece is made entirely by hand. No machines touch the leather, the stitching, or the finish. This is not a marketing claim — it is the only way we know how to work.

Materials that age beautifully

Natural wool, recycled cotton, plant-based dyes. We choose materials for what they become over time — richer, softer, more characterful — not for how they photograph on day one.

Direct from the artisan

We work without intermediaries. Every order supports the craftspeople of Marrakech directly — their skills, their workshops, and the living tradition they carry forward.

From Marrakech,
to wherever you are.

We ship globally. Whether you are an interior designer, a boutique retailer, or someone who simply wants one extraordinary piece — every order receives the same attention.
